It’s that time of year where many hit musicals are coming to cities near you! We love coming back to camp talking about the shows we’ve seen and singing the new songs we have learned.
Here are some we think are worth checking out:
School of Rock: The Musical
Based on the hit movie starring Jack Black, this musical will feature new songs by the famed composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. We also heard that the kids in the band will actually be playing the instruments onstage as a Broadway first!
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
This Roald Dahl classic has already had two movies and one musical, but the story is so classic they made another! They’ll be combining songs from the original movie (favorites like “Pure Imagination”, “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket”, and “The Candy Man”) with new songs written by the writers of Hairspray. Also, who can resist those Oompa Loompas?
And finally…
Hamilton
Hamilton is on tour! Pretty much everything that can be said about Hamilton has. Amazing music, fantastic choreography, wonderful casting — definitely a show not to miss.
